Class Level Definitions (for both kids and adults):

Beginner Chess Class

This class is for children/adults who range from having no background in chess to those who have learned how very basics of how the pieces can move but who still don’t have a strong, automatic command of all piece movements.

Intermediate Chess Chess Class:
This class is for children/adults who have a strong command of the pieces and their movements. Children/adults at this level can recognize when checkmate happens.  Most of the time they may know how to checkmate, but in any case they do not have a dominant command of doing so.

Advanced Chess Chess Class:
This class is for children/adults who have a strong, automatic command of checkmate, and whose games all end in either checkmates or draws. Children/adults in this class may know chess notation but not fluent. They should be relatively strong young players.

Advanced Chess Class - Club Level:
This class is for children/adults who have a strong, automatic command of checkmate, and who are fluent in chess notation. The children/adults in this class are essentially ready to play at CFC rated games or play against other stonger club members, but may still want to add to what is already a full repertoire by playing and analyzing with others at higher level.

Elite classes are for small group only and will be added as needed.
